AI Won’t Create More Founders — It Will Create More Experiments

Almost every day, we run into small problems and think:

“Why hasn’t anyone built this yet?”

For a long time, that thought usually ended there. Not because the idea wasn’t good—but because building something was too hard, too technical, or too expensive. Turning even a simple idea into something real required skills, time, or resources most people didn’t have.

That is starting to change.

While AI continues to dominate headlines with new models, funding rounds, and competition between tech giants, a quieter shift is happening underneath: the barrier to building is falling.

Tools like Claude Code are making it possible for people with little or no technical background to turn ideas into simple products, prototypes, or small experiments. Not perfectly. Not instantly. But often well enough to try.

And that changes something fundamental.

Ideas were never scarce. Execution was. We are not entering an era of more ideas—we are entering an era of more attempts.

More attempts doesn’t mean more success

At first glance, this shift looks like a clear win. If building becomes easier, more people can start. If more people can start, entrepreneurship should grow.

But that logic is incomplete.

Starting and succeeding are not the same thing. A world with more MVPs does not automatically become a world with more durable businesses. In many cases, it becomes a world with more unfinished projects, more overlapping ideas, and more noise competing for the same limited attention.

AI didn’t democratize success. It democratized attempts.

The bottleneck is moving

For years, the main barrier was technical. Now that barrier is weakening, so the bottleneck moves elsewhere. It moves toward:

  • Choosing the right problem
  • Understanding real users
  • Testing demand early
  • Building distribution
  • Earning trust
  • Executing consistently

In other words: AI didn’t remove the hard part. It moved it.

The challenge is no longer just building something. It’s building something that people actually use.

The future founder is not just a builder

In this new environment, the advantage shifts. The best founders won’t necessarily be the best coders. They will be the ones who can make better decisions, run smarter experiments, and learn faster from feedback.

Because:

  • Everyone can build now.
  • Almost no one knows what to build.

The future founder is not just a builder. The future founder is a decision-maker.


We may be teaching the wrong thing

For years, learning how to code has been seen as one of the most valuable skills—and for good reason. But in a world where AI can assist with building, that may no longer be the primary advantage.

The real shift is this: The question is no longer “Can you build?” It’s “Are you building the right thing?”

While tools are making it easier to create, they are not making it easier to decide. They don’t tell you:

  • Which problem is worth solving
  • Whether anyone actually needs your solution
  • Why people would choose it over alternatives

That is still a human skill, and it is becoming more important.

This is why entrepreneurship education needs to evolve. In schools, programs, and technology centers, the most valuable lessons may no longer be how to write code or how to use tools, but instead:

  • How to validate an idea
  • How to choose the right problem
  • How to test quickly and learn from real feedback

In a world where almost anyone can build something, the real advantage belongs to those who can decide what is worth building.

A new skill: making ideas visible

There is another shift happening in parallel. If more people can build, more people will publish. And when more people publish, attention becomes scarce.

This introduces a new layer: the ability to make ideas visible.

Not as noise. Not as manipulation. But as clarity. Because even the best idea, built perfectly, has no impact if no one sees it.

In that sense, going viral is not the goal. It is the byproduct of something deeper: clear thinking, expressed in a way people feel compelled to share.

The deeper shift

Generative coding assistants are not important just because they help generate code faster. They are important because they change who gets to build. And when participation expands, the structure of entrepreneurship changes with it.

We may soon live in a world where starting something is no longer rare. But finishing something, growing something, and making something truly useful may become even harder.

Starting is no longer impressive. Finishing is.

So no—AI will not simply create more founders. It will create more experiments. And in that world, the advantage won't come from access alone. It will come from clarity, judgment, and the ability to turn fast experimentation into real value.
